owl punch...converted

this is a card i made for a friend of mine well actually i made 10 but i
forget to take  a picture of them just before handing them over.  This
is my first order for christmas cards finished and handed over thank
goodness that lovely cute reindeer was made with my trusty owl
punch turned upside down, really love him, the addition of googly
eyes just finshes him nicely

not a christmas card

thought i would give you a break from christmas
cards today, last week my friend asked me to make
a 65th birthday card for her aunt it took me a while

 

to get out the christmas frame of mind.  You cant see the frame that i cut with
my labels die from stamping up.  then i stamped the flowers and cut them out
to give it more depth.

busy,busy,busy...

its that time of the year again, i dont appear  to have enough
year left for the amount of stuff i have to get done.  I always
start the year with really good intentions of being prepared
for christmas but i get to november and i start to flap with
the amount of cards i have to make. 
I have managed to finish one of my customer orders thank
goodness thought i would show some of them, i shamelessly

 

cased the idea from the stampin up catalogue.  For christmas i'm
thinking of asking for a photography course, anyone who's ever
been on this blog will know photography is not one of my
strenghs. I had to make 10 of these so it wasn't too bad  let me
know what you think

another winters day

what an awful morning, i loathe october and november such
awful weather, cold and grey thought i would cheer you up
with the cards i made for my fab nephew who was 18

yes i know its got 21 on it, thats because i made this card twice i loved it that
much once for my partners son for his 21st and once for my nephews 18th
when i went to download the picture i discovered this they were done in
different colourways it was cased from a blog but i cant remember where
so my apologies to whoever it was but i really loved this design which is
why i  used it

the dreaded c word

i know.. yet again the first thing that seems to go
when i'm busy is the blog.  I can't seem to think
that i've been any busier than normal i've already
started making christmas cards for my customers
but i thought i would share a card i made for
our friend tom who had a birthday last week

this was totally cased from  www.addinkandstamp.blogspot.com
i just loved the card and plan to use the idea again so nice for
a male card, also you might see it converted into a christms card
cos i do think it might convert into a santa suit.

paperie retreat

Well what a weekend, I booked to go on a craft retreat earlier in the
year unfortunately i could only manage to go for one day rather
than the whole weekend, but what a day.   Can you think of
a better way to spend a saturday than crafting good company
and great food and what food!!!!   I took photos of everything

we ate so just to make you jealous here they are,  bacon butties and

drinks on arrival.  mid morning we stopped for coffee and home made

biscuits , really delicious, then more crafting.  Then a stop for hot buffet

lunch and dessert.  Then even more crafting.  Another  break for afternoo tea
and cream scones we needed it by this time after tangling with hot glue
guns and wreaths.  AFTER finishing the wreaths some of us needed a
break then just in case we were still hungry we broke for our evening

meal.  My trout starter,  the other starters also looke as  good.  My main course

was slow roast belly pork which melted in the mouth. Then the desert sticky
toffee pudding with ice  cream.

To finish the day off and because obviously we could still be hungry!! not

we had a pyjama party with a candy bar.  We had a brilliant time and I will
post some of the other highlights, i just thought for a change i would do
food highlights

busy, busy, busy

I havn't blogged for a few days, no reason just seemed to
be busy all the time i am going on a craft retreat this
saturday and i have to make a name badge with limited
supplies i have sweated over this badge it is well out
of my comfort zone, it is finished now i  will put
 a picture  on after the weekend.
 One of my favorite customers at work gave me
a picture she had made for me at school.  I decided

to return the favor here is what i came up with.  When i asked
her what she liked she said pink and butterflies which explains
 the colour scheme

its me again

I really think we can expect freak weather conditions third
post in one week, it was my short day at work today. So
i showed willing and did a bit of housework, also even
better we received a free case of wine for swapping our
energy provider this has been stashed away for a rainy
day!! or when we have had a bad day.  In ten days
i am going on a craft retreat which i am really looking
forward to,  we have to make a name badge out of
limited supplies so i have been messing about with this
cant show it till after the retreat though

heres  a card i made for one of my mums friends i got the idea from a card
class i went to, its a double fold and i liked this design i hope she likes it

What a shocker

Well can you believe it no posting for two months then two in two days,
i've had a couple of really crafty days lovely card class on sunday
with monica and then home for a little more crafting here's another

card that i've been working on. This was a card commisioned for  a new
baby she was eleven days late so it has been waiting for all the details  so
it can be personalised I used a lovely teddy bear topper and embellished it
with pearls and a lovely ribbon bow i really liked how it turned out

missing in action

can't believe it has been so long since i posted on my blog, dont really
know why its been so long.  i did have a chest infection which knocked
me for six but have recovered from that finally, onwards and upwards
however. I have been crafting inbetween other things  heres one of

the card i have made recently its for one of my friends at work she is on holiday
when it is her  birthday so i had to make it early it didnt come out exactly as
i planned but do they ever.

more unfinished stuff

here is yet another unfinished item this is something i started last year
before christmas didnt have time to finish it so it got left.  i started
again last week but didnt buy enought ribbon to get it finsished

so i will have to go back and buy some more. It was started with stampin
up material, and i really didnt gel with the colours but i do think it is
coming together with the red and green ribbon i've put a gold bow
on it but i want something else on it but again not too sure what that
is any ideas let me know

Unfinished Business

The title says it all, i seem to have quite a lot of unfinished
craft projects so rather than wait till they are all finished
i would show them unfinished then hopefully when they

are finished , this is going to be an advent picture for  christmas, i think
i may be getting too old for a calender.  It will probably sit there while
i look at it and work out what it is lacking, because i do feel its lacking
something.

Next item is a magnetic bill holder or a decorated giant peg depending
on your viewpoint  i picked the peg up on my travels then decorated it
with some paper and diamantes, i think i might have gone a bit over
board with the diamanted but there you go

Freshly made sketchs

obviously as i am on holiday from work, rather than doing jobs around
the house i am in my card room.

I needed a break from all the white christmas card so i have made
2 with colour today i've used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches
to give me a head start i really enjoyed making this card yet again

no sentiment but i will probably add one later

need to go make some tea now  catch you later

White is the new ??

On a roll i am with christmas cards, i've surprised myself again

by making white cards again with red as an accent colour i borrowed the stamp
set from my friend joanne you cant see on the photo but i've embossed the
white layer with polka dots which looks okay, i still think it might need a
sentiment but  not quite sure

first christmas cards of 2012

Well can you believe it i have got a weeks holiday from work, it seems
to have been a long time since i was off, it was in January after all.
obviously I have stacks to do, it goes without saying instead of
doing jobs around the house i have been in my craft room
I had to make a card for one of my friends and i wanted to
make  a start on christmas cards for this year, every year i
try to get ahead and every year in December i am franticaly
rushing around trying to finish them

So heres the first card i made today, cased it totally from someones

blog but i dont know which one so i cant give any credit 
Next a picture of the first batch of christmas cards i made,
 these are pretty different for
me as they are white cards with a hint of gold, i never ever make pure white
cards but i wanted to try out the snowflake punch my good friend monica
gave me and it seemed to be a plan to use plain white cards, still dont
know if i will put a sentiment on see you what you think

 i knew these would not photograph very well the base of the card is embossed
with snowflakes

really would like some input so please let me know what you think

My New Toy

Hope your week is going well, mines not going  too
bad, i'm  waiting for my friend to come she also
does my hair which is in dire need of colouring
the grey is getting terrible.  While i have been
waiting for her to come i have been playing with
my new toy from e bay it  is the stampin up
lace punch i have been after it for a while but



i finally found it on e  bay for a bargain price this is
a very simple card but thats because it was as blunt
as anything and it took me  ages to sharpen it  so
i could use it this will be going into my card stash
for emergency cards

ANOTHER FATHERS DAY CARD

Yes you're right i only have one dad, but my partners son
wanted one for his dad, as last weekend we went to Silverstone
for a tour, his christmas present this card was made when
we came back, if you look closely behind the dad there is the
Silverstone logo, its a really simple card lets hope he likes it

Well however short of time i am i have to
make my dad a card for fathers day!!

Ive totally cased this card from Michelle Lasts
blog i fell in love with this card the minute i saw
it and despite the lack of the stamp set i improvised

as you do i would really like the set she made it with, but funds at
the moment dont allow it, however when i win the lottery this
will be the first set i buy

i know its been weeks since i last posted, i seem to have been
really busy doing nothing really, however i have managed to
carry on crafting, heres a card i've made for a friends sons
birthday i've used a mojo monday sketch to make it easier

JUST ANOTHER SUNDAY

Well another sunday in blogland, I have got so many things
I should be doing house work, ironing all the usual stuff
instead i have been making a baby card for my stepmums

granddaughter, she has had a baby girl  in the early hours of
saturday morning.  As I at the moment struggle with my lay outs
i thought i would combine it with the Freshly Made Sketches
challenge

Two posts, one week

What do you think of the card, totally cased it from an australian blogger, but
when i saw it really caught my eye only thing i changed was background and
sprayed the flower with shimmer spray.  will have to go now promised my
beloved a roast dinner for tea and i am going to make a start on it

FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES

Happy bank holiday weekend, hope you are enjoying it, mine hasn't been too bad, i decided to have a go at making a rose with my owl punch, i don't think it looks too bad, it will look better once the crystal

i know, its been a long time, in my defence, we have just helped my mum move house, it was
a bit of  a suprise, and helping anyone move can be quite stressful, add your mother into the
mix and you can imagine how bad it can get.  i've also been really busy at work, with holidays
and sickness, hopefully things are going to be better and this week i've got some time off
so i'm going to get some crafting in.  I have made a couple of cards this morning then i shall be

taking my beloved out for lunch, cos he's been brilliant the last few weeks, here's the cards anyway. The first one is a commision for one of my friends who has bought a lot of cards  from
me.
The next one is for my friends daughter who is 2 next week, she's a really girly little girl, and this  pink card  with the fairy paper just seemed right.

two in one day

well dont drop dead with shock 2 posts in one day, its still raining and i've managed to make another
card, the weather isn't doing much for my creativity, and i know i should be doing housework.
But my friend pam who has been my best customer for the last couple of years wanted a card

for her friend, and having a lack of inspiration i ended up looking through my stampin up catalogue so shamelessly copied here is what i came up with.   It took a lot of the hard work out of the process and i did change it slightly. 
I feel i may as well confess that on saturday evening i relived my youth and went to see the Osmonds at a local theatre, i never managed to see them in their heyday and this is the last tour they are doing so it seemed a good idea and despite the fact that donny wasn't on with them, they were fantastic had a sore throat when i came out from all the singing, isn't it funny how all the words come back to you after about 40 years

easter washout

what an awful bank holiday weekend we have had, never stopped raining i have been moving my

craft room so i havn't got a great deal of crafting done so i thought i would show you the mothers day card i made for my mum i got the idea from  cards and a cuppa who did it as as a boxed frame just thought the idea was brilliant for a card, luckily mum liked the card this style of card is great if you're
making a large card for a special occassion i've also made something similair for an 21st birthday.

Scrapbooking

this will come as a shock another post so soon, obviously had a rush of blood to the head.
Last night went to the scrapbooking class i go to every month, run by my good friend
Monica.  Its  her birthday today and it goes without saying i made her a card, the problem
is monica is the person who got me started with crafting 4 years ago and she has been crafting for more years than i care to think about so obviously no pressure to make her a card then!!!

Here is what i came up with, the basic idea i saw on a blog but im not sure where, anyway hopefully monica liked it and is having a special day

what a bad blogger

what a bad blogger i am, time just seems to get away with me. Life seems to be all work, and house work
obviously i manage to fit in the odd bit of crafting.  What a glorious weekend we are having, long one
for me i'm not back at work till wednesday been busy this afternoon making easter chicks one of my friends wants some easter cards for her grandchildren.

This week it was one of my friends birthday and her husband wanted a card for her, i saw a card on dawn griffiths blog which i shamlessly cased see what you think.  well out of my comfort zone, no layers and lots of frills but i really enjoyed making this

Freshly made sketch challenge

Thought i'd have a go at this weeks challenge at Freshly Made
Sketches, i find it a lot easier to make a card when i have
an idea to work from.  i had a card to make for a young friend
of mine, can't quite believe he's three next week, i remember
when his mum was having him, only seems like yesterday!!
Finally i have realised i do need to use some of the card stock
and paper i buy rather than just piling it up so i've started

trying to use it, this is all retired stampin up stock.  let me
know what you think, as you can see i do like my cards to be slightly  off centre, bit like me really

New year, new me

I can't believe how long it is since i posted, i am a really bad blogger, only thing i can say is i had
a change of job, which changed my shift patterns and really threw me for  a loop.

Anyway hope a good christmas was had by all, one of my good friends is moving house this
week so i have made her a new home card,  One of my favorite presents this year was my
stamping ups a to z die cutter so i had to use this. Plus not got a lot of inspiration for new

home cards this is what i finally came up with, everything apart from the mini house is stamping up
don't think i will ever get bored with stamping up.  This card is going  into Freshly Made Sketches
challenge i did like the layout which has stayed in the back of my mind all over christmas
